ADVANCED SAFETY TECHNOLOGY
The safety content offers an array of driver-alert and active safety technologies including cameras and ultrasonic sensors that help you avoid potential hazards.
HD REAR VISION CAMERA
High Definition Surround Vision provides you a high-resolution “digital” bird’s-eye view of the scene around the vehicle at low speeds and adds several additional views on the infotainment display to help you park and avoid objects.
FORWARD COLLISION ALERT
If the system detects that a pedestrian is directly ahead and a collision is imminent, and the driver has not already applied the brakes, the system alerts the driver and may even automatically apply the brakes to help the driver avoid or reduce the harm caused by the collision. Performance is limited at night.
INTELLIBEAM HEADLAMPS
In dark driving conditions, IntelliBeam Headlamps automatically turn on the vehicle’s high beams. When oncoming headlights or taillights are detected, it switches back to low beams.
REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT
When in Reverse, this feature provides alerts to help the driver avoid approaching detected left- or right-cross traffic.
REAR CAMERA MIRROR
The Rear Camera Mirror allows you to use either a traditional inside mirror or rear-view camera mirror display that provides a wide, unobstructed view to check for traffic and allows Zoom and Vertical Tilt adjustment.
FRONT AND REAR PARK ASSIST
When driving below 8 km/h, this feature provides distance-to-object alerts to help the driver park and avoid nearby detected objects directly ahead or behind the vehicle during low-speed maneuvering.
AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The Automatic Emergency Braking operates below 80 km/h, and can alert you when it detects a front-end collision is imminent with a vehicle ahead you are following. It can also help reduce the collision’s severity or avoid the collision by automatically applying hard emergency braking if you have not already, or by enhancing driver hard braking.
LANE CHANGE ALERT WITH SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT
Provides side-mirror alerts to the driver when a detected vehicle is moving in, or rapidly approaching their side blind zone during a lane-change maneuver.
REAR PEDESTRIAN ALERT
This feature uses the Rear Vision Camera to monitor the area behind the vehicle for pedestrians. When your vehicle is in reverse, you’ll see the Rear Vision Camera scene displayed. Pedestrian alerts will appear on the same screen over the rearview image.
FOLLOWING DISTANCE INDICATOR
This system provides the driver with the following (or headway) time to a moving vehicle detected in front of the vehicle to help them know if they are following too closely.
FRONT PEDESTRIAN BRAKING
If the system detects that a pedestrian is directly ahead and a collision is imminent, and the driver has not already applied the brakes, the system alerts the driver and may even automatically apply the brakes to help the driver avoid or reduce the harm caused by the collision. Performance is limited at night.
LANE CHANGE ALERT WITH LANE DEPARTURE WARNING
Provides gentle steering wheel turns (and Lane Departure Warning alerts if necessary) to help drivers avoid collisions due to unintentionally drifting out of their lane when they are not actively steering and their turn signal is not activated.
ADVANCED ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Adaptive Cruise Control-Advanced enhances regular cruise control by using sensors, including radar technology, to automatically adapt the vehicle speed to maintain your selected following gap time between your vehicle and any vehicles detected ahead while you steer, reducing the need for you to frequently brake and accelerate.
*Safety features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Read the Owner’s Manual for more important safety information.
* Always use safety belts and the correct child restraint for your child’s age and size, even with air bags.
